070611 Day 2 Assignment #1 and discussion in Studio

No time for think or rest!

In the morning, I went to Avery hall library to finish my drawing for assignment 1, focused on the network between new buildings though the high line park contrasting with isolation of the station. Time went through so fast that my mind became tense.
 

The program is run by conversation and discussion with all student in our group. Each other presents their drawing explaining what they intended, then professor and TA gave comments.

It was quite interesting to proceed the class with discussion. Although 3 hours conversation was too tired to concentrate, but still good enough. :)

In the conversation, I believe that we could learn more than when we drew ourselves' homework. Talked about shadow, colleague, expression technique, re-arrangement and re-sizing and so on. Too much stuffs I heard needed to be set up later.

After the studio class, we had a short break about an hour and a half, however, it was not for the rest but needed to prepare the next assignment.

Thanks for TA's kindness, we got a special class about drawing; plan, section, history from hand to digital. Indeed most of slides were interesting but little bit of hard to understand clearly. I need to study more!

This is not the end of today.

After the class, we needed to go back to our studio and start our next assignment. They brought really interesting things to file up! Potato, candle, bottle, boxes, etc.

 First step, we composed and bind them together with glue gun or string, then took photos to draw their sections.

Next, bring my imagination how it would be if cut the section. Harder point was to measure its length. :(

So that I could come back to my dorm after 11 p.m.
